Eben Owen

Biography

Eben Owen has been affiliated with the data center industry since 1999. Owen’s broad knowledge of power and cooling systems began at American Power Conversion in 2000 where he served as district manager of Southern Africa. Owen relocated to the United Kingdom in 2004 where he worked for APC UK and Ireland as a Systems Engineer. After designing and deploying a number of data centers across the UK, Owen joined Datacentience, a data center consultancy in London, and from there he worked for Emerson Network Power (Vertiv).

Owen returned to South Africa in 2010 for Schneider Electric as Enterprise and Solutions manager for Southern Africa. He then joined FIAMM (FZSONICK), an Italian battery manufacturer as Country Manager for Africa, with a close affiliation to UPS and battery systems. Owen joined Uptime Institute in 2018 as Director for Anglophone Africa. He is married with 3 kids, an avid hobby electronics enthusiast, and enjoys the outdoors.
