Biography

Kgothatso Madibogo is a young goal driven intern who joined Africa Data Centre under CBRE in November 2023. Studied electrical engineering and currently in training to pursue electrical trade test, program funded by CBRE. So far I have managed to learn multiple things in the facility because I am eager to learn and grow in the data centre facilities. The reason for having data centres, they enable businesses and organisations to safely store data and have ability to efficiently access it. Also provides processing power needed to run complex application and services. This is where my duties and responsibilities as a Data Centre technician/plant operator starts to unfold.

My responsibilities include data centre cooling, which is the practice of separating hot air from cold air inside the facility so that the IT equipment don’t overheat to avoid malfunction. This needs me to be a team player and take accountability for work assigned to me. In short, a plant operator monitors, carry out regular maintenance and inspections, which blends well with my ability to work under pressure and extra hours.
