Biography

Léa Giroux is the Head of Business Development at ENGIE South Africa, with over a decade of experience in project finance, M&A, and public-private partnerships. She has held various roles within ENGIE across Africa and Europe, focusing on financial advisory, investment structuring, and project management. Léa brings deep expertise in renewable energy development and strategic transactions, backed by strong skills in financial modeling and analysis.

Lea was promoted to the Head of Business Development for South Africa in February 2024, following the successful acquisition of BTE renewables and the successful closing of Grootspruit and Graspan Solar PV plants, currently under construction. Prior to joining the business development team, Léa worked in Acquisition and Project Finance for ENGIE. Prior to joining ENGIE, Lea worked in Private Equity, managing the funds of Natixis Environment and Infrastructure, working on renewable energy projects across Europe. She holds a Master in Project Finance and Structured Finance from Ecole des Ponts Paris Tech.​
