Biography

Rosemary Katz is a Senior Associate in Metals & Mining at BloombergNEF, where she analyzes industrial and battery metal markets critical to the global energy transition.

She leads research on copper demand growth from digital infrastructure, including AI-driven data center expansion, and examines how the energy transition is reshaping global commodity markets. Across her coverage, she assesses market dynamics, supply chain resilience and ESG considerations. She also covers manganese markets within the evolving battery and steel value chains.

Prior to joining BloombergNEF, Rosemary worked as a consultant at CRU Group, advising on mining and metals projects. She previously held multiple roles at South32 across South Africa and Singapore, specializing in technical marketing, supply chain management and production planning across diversified commodities.

Rosemary holds an MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy from SOAS, University of London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand.
