Held on the first night of the event, the Pan African DataCentres Gala Dinner is your opportunity to relax, have a drink, enjoy a 3 course meal and network with colleagues and friends.

Unlike many dinners, this is not a formal black-tie affair, but an event which brings the industry together, to laugh and to have a shared experience which breaks barriers and encourages interaction.

Featuring an after-dinner speaker, who is neither a Motivational Speaker nor an Industry professional detailing their view of the world… The Pan African DataCentres Dinner will feature a well-known, Sporting Personality with the history, wit, and anecdotes to deliver a lively and humorous account from their past.

You will meet peers in a social environment whilst benefitting from the networking opportunities.

After Dinner Speaker – Fanie de Villiers

Fanie de Villiers, international cricketer and well known sporting personality, established himself as a South African sports hero with his 10 wickets in the match winning performance against Australia in Sydney in 1993/4, a game still regarded by the media as the most historical and emotional win ever. Within the first two years of fast bowling , he became one of the top five bowlers in the world, a position he held for five years. In 1995 he was dubbed the worlds best fast bowler in a calendar year.

He had to give up his athletic career because of his successes on the cricket field. His last medal was a silver at the SA National u/21 championship. He is well entrenched in the business world, specializing in Security and hydraulics. At Supersport he is a commentator and his cricket show lasted for nearly 2000 episodes.

Above all Fanie will always be remembered by the cricket public as a player that enjoyed the game with a smile, his success on the field and antics off the field made him the newsmaker of South African in 1996. His charity Hear for deaf kids and his support to other different charities, put him above the rest in South Africa. In the year 2000 Radio 702 in conjunction with Jenny and Chris Williams tried to find the man of the Millennium in South Africa. After a few months of voting, listeners made Fanie the top three. He won the final voting, because of his all-rounder ship on and off the field. He was dubbed as Man of the Millennium of 702
